Jingu-mae area is always funky and pop culture area. New trends usually are born in this area. After cupcake and pancake shops, there are so many bubble tea and sweets shops including fashionable chocolate shops (and even rolling cake stand!) are now VERY popular in this area. I personally like to visit there to check new trends and to buy delicious donuts at the good town doughnuts. On the way to the donuts shop, I found this ramen shop called the Oreryu Shio-Ramen. “Ore-ryu” means my style. Men usually use “Ore” for themselves. I always research salt ramen, so my husband and I decided to try their ramen.

Hello, everyone! I have a news today!! Guess what?
Yes! I am now creating my first cookbook!!!
It’s been a secret but one of my dreams are publishing a cookbook.
Since this is my first cookbook, I wanted to try something special and fun!!!
1. Entrepreneurial stories – Many of my cooking class guests asked me how I started this cooking class business, challenges I had and what I am now. I couldn’t tell my story in detail during cooking class, but I noticed that so many people are interested in living their dreams. It was not so easy for me in the beginning. Honestly, I once thought that I should stop doing this business etc. I hope you’ll get something new and sparkling things from this book.
2. The first 50 supporters! – Here is the early-bird prize. The first 50 supporters have a chance to write support message for this project. I have been supported by many people since I started my cooking class business. This made me want to try crowd funding and make a special cookbook with my supporters!
3. Rewards – To publish this cookbook, I would like to raise funds. As a reward, I prepared various goods. Those goods are original tote bag, denim bag, Apron and Chopsticks. Of course, those products are sold at my classroom and YUCa’s Japanese Cooking online store only. Now is the time to get those goods as well. Very exclusive!!

The other day, my family and I visited Shinjuku area on weekend. As always, I researched local ramen shops and found a “niboshi (dried small sardines) based ramen”. In Japan, we usually use dried small sardines to make Dashi soup broth. I like the flavor from niboshi so I decided to try.

As Ramen is always so popular here in Tokyo, you can find not famous yet good quality ramen shops easily wherever you live/stay. So I did. I found another my favorite ramen shop, which is accessible from my place. Some of you might know but my son adores trains. Luckily, local and the last streetcar in Tokyo called “Sakura Tram” runs near our neighborhood. So, it’s always our family’s pleasure to find good restaurant along the line. When we found this ramen shop, we (maybe my husband and I only) were soooo HAPPY!
Merry Christmas!
My son is curious about candles…
Mario and Luigi are curious about strawberry sponge cake…you know.
YUCa’s Japanese Cooking was featured by international (& my favorite) media – NHK World! 🇯🇵 🎉
NHK World is definitely one of my favorite media so I was so happy that they came to my private kitchen and interviewed me whole day! It was the 2nd longest filming session since after the one with Babble.com (by Disney) last summer. 🌴 That time, we created three recipe videos together. To watch those videos, please check here!
I appear on “Biz stream” section and this program will be broadcasted for coming three weeks! 😊
To watch this interview, please down their App or check here!
Actually, I talked a lot more during the interview like how I started this business, what’s the challenge, how I feel happy, future vision etc…maybe it’s too personal. But, no worries! I will share those stories for YOU as a surprise soon!
It’s always fun to discover local ramen shops in Tokyo. But this time, I found delicious ramen shop in my neighborhood. Lucky! The name of the shop is “Tsukemen Marubun”. I am sure some of you may know already but Tsukemen means dipping ramen. This shop is specialty tsukemen restaurant and located in a residential area in Arakawa ward.
